I’m a qualified counsellor and CBT practitioner and NZAC superivsor with extensive experience supporting adolescents, adults, couples and families through challenging times. My approach is warm, compassionate and practical, creating a safe space where you can feel heard, understood and respected without judgement.
I bring together my counselling training, more than 25 years of experience in education, and a genuine passion for helping people understand themselves and create meaningful change.
I have worked in education for over 25 years, including extensive experience supporting adolescents and their whānau. This has given me a strong understanding of young people, the challenges they face and the importance of connection, communication and feeling understood.
My experience in both education and counselling gives me a perspective that is particularly valuable when working with young people and families.
My approach is collaborative and tailored to you. I have postgraduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with Masters training in Solution-Focused Therapy. I also draw on person-centred and strengths-based approaches, and the Gottman Method in my work with couples.
I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. Together, we'll explore what's happening, build understanding, identify strengths and develop practical strategies for meaningful change
Outside of work, I love being outdoors, spending time by the sea and travelling. I've been fortunate to travel extensively and enjoy the perspective that comes from experiencing different places, people and cultures.
I value curiosity, connection and continuing to learn, both professionally and personally.
